Fighting Malnutrition in the Philippines

Since Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines in December of 2013, the island nation has struggled with malnutrition in some of the hardest hit areas. An over-reliance on rice and low levels of breastfeeding have left Filipino children among the most malnourished in the region.

Fortunately, Hunger Site partner UNICEF has stepped in to support a nutrition initiative led by the Government and the European Union that educates and empowers women, granting them the tools and knowledge they need to improve nutrition for themselves and their families.
