Reverse Advent Calendar Helps You Make A Generous Donation When Christmas Arrives

The holidays are a great time to get together and do something nice for those less fortunate since it’s the season of giving!

And recently, a very clever influencer on Facebook has come up with a revamped Advent Calendar that allows you to get into the season’s giving spirit with what is being called a Reverse Advent Calendar. The post went up online on the 15th of November and is the brainchild of Passionate Penny Pincher.

As demonstrated on her reverse Advent calendar, every day in December, it gives you a different food item to add to a box. That way, by the time Christmas comes, you have a container full of 24 items. Then, in order to complete the entire endeavor, you’re supposed to take the box to your local food bank or shelter.

And you have to admit, this is a much better gesture than eating 24 small bits of chocolate.

The items that are chosen by the Passionate Penny Pincher are inexpensive and easy to find – in fact, many of them may already be in the back of our pantries. Of course, you can swap some of the items for others should you so wish. The end result of the food in the box will still be just as satisfying and much appreciated.

This is such a great idea, that the idea is already trending online. Only four hours following Passionate Penny Pincher putting the post up on Facebook, it had already been shared 200 times.

It seems like as good a time as any to start a new advent calendar family tradition for the holidays. Pay it forward!
